Kings rally past Blackhawk

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Muzzin scored the game-winning goal with 3:37 to play as the Los Angeles Kings rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Tyler Toffoli returned to the lineup after a six-game absence due to mononucleosis and delivered the game-tying goal and Jeff Carter finished with two goals and an assist for the Kings, who halted a four-game slide.

Blackhawks carry winning feeling into break

The Penguins were missing two of their core players, defenseman Kris Letang and center Evgeni Malkin, both of whom were injured in the Penguins’ 3-2 overtime loss Tuesday in Philadelphia, and had to rally after spotting the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead.

Teuvo Teravainen tallies first goal in Blackhawks' loss

The way Teuvo Teravainen Jersey was playing, he was bound to score his first NHL goal sooner or later. The Blackhawks rookie only wished it had come in a victory.

Nick Foligno to captain home team at 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno and Chicago Blackhawks Jersey forward Jonathan Toews have been named team captains for the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game® at Nationwide Arena on January 25, the league and club announced today. Foligno will captain the All-Star home team, now designated as Team Foligno, with Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane Jersey and Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty serving as assistant captains, while Toews will lead the All-Star visiting team, now designated as Team Toews, with assistant captains Rick Nash of the New York Rangers and Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks.

Foligno, Toews and their assistants will be charged with selecting their squads at the 2015 NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft TM presented by DraftKings on Friday, January 23 at 8 p.m. The draft will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and televised live in the United States on NBC Sports Network and in Canada on Rogers Sportsnet and TVA.

Foligno, 27, has registered a career-high 18 goals and 22 assists for 40 points with 20 penalty minutes in 39 games this season. He leads the club in goals and points and is among the NHL’s leaders in goals (12th-tied), points (15th-tied), power play goals (nine, third-tied) and power play points (20, third). 

Minnesota Wild (18-17-5) at Chicago Blackhawks (27-13-2),8 p.m. (ET)

The Chicago Blackhawks have struggled with inconsistency at the start of the new year but they hope to regain some momentum in Sunday's home clash against the sliding Minnesota Wild.

Chicago is 2-3-0 in January, alternating losses and wins since the start of the month. The rough patch began with a loss in the 2015 Winter Classic Jersey at Washington's Nationals Park on New Year's Day, and, after Chicago managed to win two out of three, it continued with Friday's 5-2 setback in Edmonton.

Of the Blackhawks' two wins in January, however, the most recent one came against tonight's opponent. Chicago recorded a 4-2 win Thursday in Minnesota despite being outshot by a wide margin.

Corey Crawford stole two points for the Blackhawks in St. Paul, making 42 saves to anchor the win. Minnesota outshot Chicago 37-10 after the first period and 44-20 for the game.

Avs try to solve Blackhawks in Chicago

The Colorado Avalanche will try to pick up their first win of the season series against Chicago, as the Central Division foes battle Tuesday night at the United Center.

The Blackhawks gear are 2-0 so far in the 2014-15 series against Colorado and Chicago posted a 5-2 road victory when the clubs last met on Dec. 27 at the Pepsi Center. Patrick Kane registered two goals and an assist to fuel Chicago's offense.

Last season, the Avalanche went 3-1-1 against the Blackhawks over five meetings and they have claimed two straight and four of the past six encounters in the Windy City.
